The WSBA is hosting a cruise preview event, Saturday March 6, 2010 3-5 PM at the Walnut Grove Restaurant in Wexford.

Everyone who attends will receive a gift valued at $25
Additional prizes and gifts will be awarded (two are valued at $400+) and one attendee will get a gift valued at $1000!

This is a WSBA sponsored event however it is open to everyone.

WSBA Partnership with PA eMentoring

In another collaborative effort WSBA has partnered with PA eMentoring. PA eMentoring is a chance to give guidance to a high school student who, below the surface, is just as nervous and scared as you were.

In fact, by giving just 30 minutes a week from your desk or home computer, an online career eMentor can provide the guidance and reinforcement necessary to positively impact a student for a lifetime.

The program uses working and retired adults and mature college students serving as online career mentors and a structured online curriculum to help give young people the knowledge and skills they need to "get real" about their futures - "real" about the demands and opportunities within the job market, and "real" about a plan that leads to their eventual success.

The ultimate goal of PA eMentoring is to help students achieve success after high school by providing them with a detailed, realistic post secondary plan that is created with and supported by a career mentor.

You're invited to join the WSBA for its annual Community Service Event Luncheon, December 8, from 1-4 pm at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association.

This year's holiday event will support Dress for Success Pittsburgh. The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Attendees have the opportunity to give back to the community by donating new and gently used clothing and accessories directly to Dress for Success. WSBA members will also be able to contribute their knowledge and experience by signing up to speak at future Dress for Success Professional Women's Group gatherings.

Vendors will be on hand with an assortment of products; perfect for seasonal gift shopping. In addition, this event will offer informative guest speakers and a productive networking atmosphere open to all who wish to attend.

Key speaker for the event will be Leah Lizarondo Shannon, Chief Executive Officer, Dress for Success. Leah will share an inspirational speech, based on her 10-year track record of success working with both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Sam Wieder of Commanding Confidence will show how you can command the confidence and relationship-building skills of a master networker in his presentation "Quick-Start Networking: How to Launch Business-Building Relationships Faster Than You Thought Possible".

Lunch will feature: Breast of Chicken Marsala with Wild Mushroom and Marsala Demi Glaze, Penne Pasta with Tomato Vodka Cream Sauce, Diced Tomato and Basil. The buffet will also offer Salad, Potatoes/Pasta, Vegetable, Fresh Rolls and Butter, Coffee, Tea, Iced Tea and Dessert.
